With such a high level of integration in distributed systems in addition to the complex and multiple layers of software used in automation and information technology systems today, the chances are greater for intentional and malicious threats to cyber security. When it comes to the security of SCADA installations, it’s clear that not only calculated threats must be prevented. Those in charge of creating and operating automation in plants may not be fully aware of the complete infrastructure and software in place.
